Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

What you need What to do
  • apple cider vinegar
  • water
  • 2 - 3 drops of essential oil (optional)
  1. Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 8 parts water
  2. Add a few drops of essential oil (optional)
  3. Dilute more if the smell is too strong
  4. After you’ve washed your hair pour close to the roots
  5. Let the solution run down the length of your hair
  6. Leave in for 5 minutes or as long as you can
  7. Rinse well

Egg Wash

What you need What to do
  • 1 egg yolk
  • water (optional)
  • 2 - 3 drops of essential oil (optional)
  1. Separate egg yolk from egg white
  2. Add a few drops essential oil and/or water if you want
  3. Apply to your hair either before your shower (as a mask) or to damn hair (in the shower) starting from your roots
  4. Massage scalp
  5. Rinse well with cold water or you’ll smell like scrambled eggs

Egg & Yogurt Wash

What you need What to do
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt (more if your hair is longer)
  • 2 - 3 drops of essential oil (optional)
  1. Separate egg yolk from egg white
  2. Mix egg yolk with yogurt (and essential oil)
  3. Apply to your hair either before your shower (as a mask) or to damn hair (in the shower) starting from your roots
  4. Massage scalp
  5. Rinse well with cold water or you’ll smell like scrambled eggs

Rye Flour Wash

What you need What to do
  • 2 tablespoons rye flour (more for longer hair)
  • water
  • 2 - 3 drops of essential oil (optional)
  1. Make sure you hair is combed/brushed and tangle free
  2. Mix rye flour with enough water to make a paste
  3. Apply to damp hair starting at the roots and taking it down the shaft of your hair
  4. Rinse very well

Depending on how finely milled your rye flour is you may still have some grains left in your hair. Don’t worry, just wait for your hair to dry, flip your head upside-down, give your hair a shake and it will just fall out.

Egg, Honey & Castor Oil Wash/Mask

What you need What to do
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons castor oil
  • 2 - 3 drops of essential oil (optional)
  1. Separate egg yolk and egg white
  2. Mix egg yolk, honey, castor oil and essential oil (if you want)
  3. Apply to dry hair starting at the roots and any remaining mixture down the length of your hair
  4. Rinse well

As there is castor oil in this recipe you may need to add another wash after you rinse this out, e.g. rye flour or a low poo alternative, to avoid the greasy residue.
